Job description:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our UK team. This role involves developing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure supporting our e-business solutions. The successful candidate will ensure data availability, reliability, and optimization for analytical purposes, directly contributing to application performance and informed decision-making for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Construct and optimize data warehousing solutions (e.g., data marts, data lakes).
- Ingest, cleanse, and transform large, complex datasets from disparate sources.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems.
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to ascertain data requirements.
- Automate data workflows and infrastructure management tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues efficiently.
- Evaluate and implement new data technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 1 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with relational databases.
- Expertise in at least one programming language pertinent to data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and ETL/ELT methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and optimizing data pipelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork and cross-functional engagement.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their respective data services is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Hadoop) is a plus.
